The use of computers by whole industries in the United States has led to great sophistication in accounting software needs, objectives, functions and features. A long and varied career in software design and programming has given Jon many insights into the ways in which information technology has evolved and continues to evolve. Jon has seen firsthand the contribution of this increasingly vital production factor in shaping American business practices.
Jon epitomizes strong analytical skills and a keen ability to visualize the end result to his role as Vice President, Technology Services. Among his principal responsibilities are the selection, implementation and support of accounting and other computer business systems for our clients. Jon also is responsible for the firm's ongoing technical training program. Moreover, in his capacity as general consultant, he assists senior management in how best to use computerized systems to meet their business objectives.
Before joining DataCraft in 1978, Jon spent 14 years at Barber-Colman Co. He held the position of Design Engineer and was later promoted to Engineering Programmer. In the latter post, he was part of a programming team that devised building automation control systems for the State of Kentucky and the National Gallery of Art. He received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Rockford College while at Barber-Colman.
For the past three decades, Jon has lent his expertise to numerous businesses along the technology spectrum, ranging from small shops and first-time users looking to adopt accounting software to large companies on the forefront of implementing customized networked systems.
In the near future, Jon plans to expand the consulting component of his activities.
